About Me
My Dream Has Always Been To Serve My Community
I am a North Florida native who was raised in Jacksonville. My background is a blend of cultures, as my mother is from El Salvador, and my father is from southern Louisiana. This diverse upbringing has made me particularly attuned to the unique challenges facing first and second-generation Americans.
My motivation to pursue higher education in mental health draws from my own experience with depression and anxiety, as well as grief and loss. These experiences have helped me to understand the importance of a positive support system. I recognize that our experiences shape us, and this understanding enables me to relate to clients on a deeper level and engage them with compassion and openness.
Highlighting Compassion, Empathy, And Acceptance In My Approach
I am passionate about providing my clients with an approach that caters to their individual personalities and goals and helps them overcome the mental health challenges that stand in the way of their best lives.
My counseling philosophy is grounded in the belief that each person possesses the potential for growth and self-exploration. This approach is reflected in my life philosophy, highlighting empathy's significance and the importance of understanding different perspectives.
The capacity for compassion, empathy, understanding, and acceptance of my clients also enhances my effectiveness in fulfilling my role. I have a unique ability to reframe situations and understand my clients' perspectives, which allows me to resonate with them by incorporating their values and learning about who they are as people.
My Practice Embodies Those Same Values

In sessions, we strive to create a welcoming and confidential environment where we can explore these challenges on a deeper level and develop customized solutions to meet the individual’s unique needs.
Community Involvement And Personal Life
Professionally, I have collaborated with healthcare workers and patients to navigate complex topics such as infertility, terminal diagnoses, and medication management. I also teach Master’s students at a graduate university and volunteer on local college advisory boards.
Outside of work, I enjoy fostering cats and kittens for local animal rescues.
And as a mother, I have come to appreciate the importance of a strong foundation with my partner and the challenges and joys of motherhood. Spending time with my family, reading, and working on home improvement projects are some of the things I cherish.
